Auch in dieser Woche fand wieder unsere Tuesday‘s Debate statt. Diesmal in zwei neuen Räumen im nagelneuen Q Gebäude! Bevor die Debatten wieder losgingen fand zunächst einmal die Mitgliederversammlung statt, um wichtige Themen zu besprechen, die wegweisend für die Zukunft der DSP sind (mehr dazu in naher Zukunft)!
Danach trennten sich die deutschsprachigen von den englischsprachigen Rednern und wählten die Themen. Be i der deutschsprachigen Debatte lautete die Motion „DHW das Streikrecht für besondere Dienstleistungen einschränken!“. Ein sehr aktuelle Motion bei wiederkehrenden Streiks, sowohl von Lokführern als auch von Piloten. Hierbei setzte sich die Opposition durch, auch weil zwei von drei freien Redner sich auf ihre Seite stellten. Die Regierungsseite hingegen bestand größtenteils aus Freshmen, die dennoch gute überzeugten und viele Erfahrungen mit der Deutschen Bahn in die Debatten einfließen ließen.
Bei der englischsprachigen Debatte lautete die Motion „THW to allow euthanasia for terminally ill people!“. Auch diese Motion wurde erst letzten heiß im Bundestag debattiert und könnte emotionaler nicht sein. In dieser Debatte setzte sich die Regierung durch und auch hier wandten sich zwei der zwei freien Redner auf die Gewinnerseite.
Nachdem offiziellen Teil ging der größte Teil der anwesenden auf einige Drinks ins Auld Triangle!
This weeks Tuesday‘s Debate took place in two rooms in the brand new Q building of the University Paderborn.
Before the debates started, everybody met for a general assembly to discuss topic, which will lead the way for the future of the DSP! (More informations will follow shortly)
After the general assembly the debates were split between english and german speakers. The Motion in the german debate was „THW to restrict the right to strike for special services!“. This motion couldnt be more up to date, since in „Deutsche Bahn“ had several heavy strikes in a row, as well as the pilots of „Lufthansa“. In this debate the Opposition had the longer breath and won the debate. Two of the three free speakers positioned themselves on the Opposition side. The Government however, which consisted mainly of Freshmen, brought up good arguments and a lot of personal experience with the „Deutsche Bahn“.
In the englisch Debate euthanasia was heavily debated. Also this Motion couldn‘t be more up to date in Germany, since the Parliament recently debated this topic. It was a very emitional debate in which the Government managed to not only to win both free speakers to their side, but also to impress the judges the most.
After the debates the group moved to the Irish Pub „Auld Triangle“ and had a few drinks!
