​Basic knowledge of game theory, microeconomics and industrial organization is beneficial.​

Inhalte (short description):

This module provides an introduction to the fundamental methods used in microeconomics, with a particular focus on game theory and industrial organization.

In the (first third of the lecture period), the module introduces foundational topics in game theory, including Strategic and Extensive Form Games, Dominant Strategies, and Nash Equilibria.

During the (second third of the lecture period), the course explores additional concepts in game theory, such as Mixed Strategies, Subgame Perfect Equilibrium, and Finitely and Infinitely Repeated Games.

Finally, in the (last third of the lecture period), the module covers key topics in industrial organization, including Monopoly, Perfect Competition, Oligopoly Competition (Bertrand/Cournot), and Collusion.

The courses take place regularly during the lecture period. The module concludes with a final examination in the designated exam phase after the lecture period.
