Inhalte (short description):

A characteristic feature of today's era of globalization is the importance of global value chains, where production processes are fragmented across countries. Relatedly, multinational firms are key players of globalization. Recently, however, in wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine, firms have increasingly started to rethink their strategies of organizing production globally, seeking a greater resilience.

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the theory and empirics of multinational firms and global value chains from an economics (as opposed to business administration) perspective.
