Inhalte (short description):

The course focuses on the future of work and the use of artificial intelligence and assistance systems. Relevant topics will be explored and reflected on the basis of empirical and theoretical work. The focus is on how society deals with new technologies and what opportunities and risks arise from this.
Based on empirical and theoretical literature, current scientific and socially relevant topics will be explained and developments critically reflected.

can classify important fields of influence of the digital transformation with a view to society. In addition to the technological and conceptual foundations, ethical aspects are also known and are included in evaluations.
The students grasp the interdisciplinary character of research and practice on the topic of "Digital Work", especially with a focus on the change of the social status quo through digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence/assistance systems.​

can assess overall what role digital technologies play in the context of society. They know common methods and technologies and can use them prototypically. They know the ethical implications and challenges that new types of technology entail and are able to interpret and critically classify empirical and theoretical work in this context. Another qualification feature is that the contents dealt with can be applied to one's own questions. For this purpose, relevant research questions and research gaps can be identified.​

It is highly recommended that the students have completed at least 30CP in Wirtschaftsinformatik or MIS studies before participating in this course.

The selection of participants takes place after the end of the 1st registration phase by the study office. Only those students who have registered for the module in PAUL during the first registration phase will be selected! Please note the information on capacity-limited modules in the section "Studies" on the pages of the Faculty of Business and Economics. ​​
At the beginning of the lecture period, an introductory event takes place in which further important information about the module is announced.
The paper and the presentations are written and held in English.
