Inhalte (short description):

​Focusing on the books by Levitt/Dubner (2005, 2009) this course demonstrates how effective economics and econometrics can be used to explain rational and sometimes even irrational human behaviour. Generally, incentives are not only relevant for explaining the performance of organizations, but that they are also fruitful for other areas of life, such as politics, marriages or music. Drawing from a pool of articles that have been published in highly regarded journals, we select some of them and analyze e.g. whether beauty and weight increase an individual's income. Moreover, we investigate why people choke under pressure and how marriage may affect one's health.
