Empfohlene Voraussetzungen (prerequisites):

​Basic knowledge of industrial organization and game theory is helpful but not essential. We shall use the basic concepts of Nash equilibrium and subgame-perfect equilibrium and apply them to the respective models.

Inhalte (short description):

​This master course covers selected topics in the field of competition policy. Adopting a game-theoretic approach, we investigate the economic consequences of cartelization, collusion, mergers, preemptive and other types of anti-competitive behavior, and discuss which competitive policies are appropriate to pursue the overall economic goal of welfare maximization.
