Basic knowledge of industrial organization and game
theory is helpful but not essential. We shall use the basic concepts of Nash
equilibrium and subgame-perfect equilibrium and apply them to the respective
models. |
Inhalte (short description): |
---|
This master course covers selected topics in the
field of competition policy. Adopting a game-theoretic approach, we investigate
the economic consequences of cartelization, collusion, mergers, preemptive and
other types of anti-competitive behavior, and
discuss which competitive policies are appropriate to pursue the overall
economic goal of welfare maximization. |
