Inhalte (short description):

This module theoretically and experimentally studies topics in consumer behavior. In addition, the module discusses how to design an experiment that aligns with one's research topic. This includes determining which experimental tools to use when running experiments, which statistical tools to use when analyzing experimental data, and/or how many participants to recruit based on power analysis/pre-analysis results. This connects to how to do a pre-registration, which has become popular recently. The assignment can be done individually or as a group (2-5 people). Students can freely form a group. A (tentative) outline of the module is:

Week 1: Introduction

Week 2-5: Decision theory, Incentive compatibility, Elicitation methods

Week 6-9: Salience theory, Prospect theory, Menu-dependent choice models

Week 10-13: Hypothesis test, Statistical test, Simulation, Pre-registration

Week 14-15: Programming and feedback
