Since the 1970s, decisive variations in the international business environment are to be observed. Generally, the structure of global interdependence has changed from a trade oriented to a production oriented system. Multinational companies and their foreign direct investment strategies are major vehicles of the globalization process. The activities of multinational enterprises have significantly reshaped the conditions of the international division of labor worldwide. In the Multinational Firm module, students will obtain the goal of absorbing a sound theoretical and empirical academic background making them familiar with the underlying foundations, evolving strategies and fundamental economic framework of international business operations as well as a solid understanding of financial market aspects alongside of the various dimensions of analytical analysis of both internal and external international labor markets. |
