This course analyses and discusses current research in the area of ESG Risk Management.
his course aims to provide in-depth knowledge of the theoretical basis of ESG risks and approaches to handle ESG risks. It deals with a strand of research that focuses on how managers and firms can identify, quanitfy and mitigate non-financial ESG risks.
Throughout the course, showcases of companies' ESG risk management approaches are presented and discussed and academic research is mobilized to critically reflect on current (and future) developments in the field. The course includes both, input lectures as well as intensive discussions of research papers.
The course takes place regularly during the lecture period. A kick-off event in the first week of lectures provides initial insights into the topic. In the accompanying paper discussion sessions, students have to present research papers and actively discuss the papers presented by others. The accompanying exercise starts in the second week of lectures.
