Kurzbeschreibung (short description):
This course focuses on challenges and issues regarding international comparative management (ICM).

The lecture teaches:
- Cultural and institutional theories, cultural models and the concept of cultural distance
- Relationship between societal aspects (e.g., culture) and economic outcomes
- National business systems
- The role of institutions at the organizational level
- The changing business environment and consequences for corporations
- International corporate entrepreneurship
- International leadership
- International human resource management

The practical part consists of self-guided / self-selected case studies in which content of the lecture shall be illustrated with an examplary small, medium or large company. The case study is presented and summarized in a report.

NOTE: The language of the lecture as well as the presentation slides are in German. The exam, presentations, and project work can be done in German or English.

2. 50% ak: Abschlussklausur / final written exam

Erläuterungen / comments:

The project work involves developing a research question to be investigated by means of quantitative data analysis of secondary data. The assessment included a presentation of preliminary results and a final report. During the exercise, students will be assigned to groups (self-assignment is possible).
The final exam examines knowledge of the content of the lecture.
