The Externsteine are one of the most popular sight-seeing attractions that can be visited in the Teutoburger Forest.
The prominent stone formation is located midst a nature reserve and is up to 40 m high. From the top you will have an astonishing view of the valley Wiembecke. Approximately 500.000 people visit this natural monument every year.

There are a lot of acitivties you can do at the Externsteine

• At the information center you have the chance to visit the exhibition about the current knowledge of archaelogical, cultural and natural history free of charge. It delivers an exciting and interactive overview about the secrets surrounding the Externseteine.

Entrance fee for climbing the Externsteine:

Adult: 3,50 €
Child (up to 14 years): 1,50 €

Combination ticket- Externsteine and Hermannsdenkmal

Saving by climbing on both tourist attractions:
Adult: 4,50 €
Child(up to 14 years): 1,50 €

The combination ticket allows climbing both monuments once within one season.

In the winter months there is no combination ticket, due to weather related opening times of the Externsteine.
