Patricia Rae

Patricia Rae is Professor of English at Queen's University in Ontario. She is the author of The Practical Muse: Pragmatist Poetics in Hulme, Pound and Stevens (1997) and the editor of Modernism and Mourning (2007). She has published widely on modernist literature, in books such as The Oxford Handbook of Elegy (ed. Weisman) (2010), Modernism (ed. Liska and Eysteinsson) (2007) and The Blackwell Companion to Modernist Literature and Culture (ed. Norbrook and Dettmar), and in journals including ELH, Comparative Literature, Twentieth Century Literature, Prose Studies, The Wallace Stevens Journal, Southern Review, The Journal of War and Culture Studies, Analecta Husserliana and English Studies in Canada. Currently she is completing a book, Modernist Orwell, which explores George Orwell's relationship to literary modernism.
