Alexander Meier-Dörzenbach

Alexander Meier-Dörzenbach was born in Hamburg in 1971 and pursues a twofold career. After having finished his doctoral — an interdisciplinary study of Sherwood Anderson and modern art — he now teaches American Studies as a Juniorprofessor at Hamburg University. Despite his focus on American art history, he also works in the operatic field as dramaturg often in close collaboration with Stefan Herheim, e.g. in such productions as La forza del destino and Lohengrin at the Berlin State Opera or Parsifal at the Bayreuth Festival.
